When choosing automatic selection in the software, a default chain setting is applied (minimum life duration of 15,000 hours). Three different chain types (Simplex, Duplex and Triplex) are offered and can be individually selected. Please keep in mind, that the program only offers chain already manufactured by Renold. If a chain is required, that is not offered by the program please contact one of our sales offices.
If a chain is manually selected the working life will be calculated for the given application. Please also keep in mind, that depending on the product group some chain types are not available.
The best solution closely depends on the application working environment. So, be careful when selecting the chain type; the various potential solutions are listed hereafter:
Renold Synergy is a high performance power transmission chain with exceptional wear and fatigue resistance properties. The chain has cold extruded bushes with a specially coated pin to reduce friction inside the bearing area. The chain will have a longer operational life than any other available power transmission chain on the market. Special plate contour and optimised connecting links result in a 20% higher fatigue performance than the nearest competitor. Plates are specifically coated to improve the corrosion protection. The chain is pre-lubricated with a unique grease having the lubrication inside the chain with a dry outer surface.
Standard Renold brand roller chain boasts all of the key features that deliver productivity and long working life. Renold brand chain has the wide waisted plates and solid bush/solid roller components that tackle wear and fatigue but also has the end-softened, spin riveted pin for easy disassembly.
This chain can be selected for normal operating conditions. This first class all-purpose chain delivers affordable reliability, which will solve your normal power transmission and conveyor application problems.
Renold Syno is our maintenance free roller chain with high quality sintered bushes ensuring significant lubricant retention. Such a chain is required in applications which do not easily allow oil lubrication. This chain must however be used under low speeds and moderated loading conditions.
This product runs completely free of lubricant and provides solutions for applications where bigger chain sizes are required and for which no lube-free chains were previously available. Available in sizes from 1.5" to 2.5" it combines a corrosion resistant surface treatment with a durable polymer roller and internal sleeve between the bush and pin delivering exceptional wear resistance characteristics. It is ideal for outdoor applications or those with frequent washdown.
Renold Syno Stainless Steel is a low maintenance stainless steel chain. With a large oil reservoir inside sintered bushes the chain will have a permanent lubrication inside the chain. The chain will be used in applications where lubrication is impossible and corrosion should be neglected. The chain is used at low speeds with moderate loads. The chain can be used under water; however the chain life will be reduced. Such condition cannot be modelled with this program.
Renold Stainless Steel chain is used where corrosion protection is essential. The stainless steel of type 304 is used, which is specially treated to achieve high tensile strength. The chain has an actual corrosion protection with excellent wear resistance. Even with stainless steel chain, lubrication is of advantage as the wear performance is improved.
This chain is dedicated to corrosive environment, or outdoor applications. The coating is especially designed for salt spray tests. Cold extruded, coned bushes will improve the wear resistance of the chain.
This chain is the optimum solution for abrasive environment such as paper or wood industry. A specifically coated pin with very high hardness resists the abrasive wear such that this chain outperforms any available chain on the market in this environment.
